1.Swift Diagnosis and Swift Repairs Through Automated Operations
The selection of CAN type as well as the identification of malfunction locations are completely automated, allowing CAN diagnosis to be done 17 times faster than previous method where the diagnostics system needed to be supplemented by the service manuals. Repairs involving reprogramming of the in-vehicle computer can be completed 1.5 to 2.5 times faster with the new system.
2.Automated Self-Diagnostics
The system is able to perform accurate diagnosis without having to rely on the diagnostic skills of technical staff at the dealership.Increased efficiency in operations based on wireless technology.With wireless vehicle communication interface, it is possible to check the condition of the vehicle from either inside or outside the vehicle. At dealerships in Japan, it is possible to access the Nissan network to retrieve both the maintenance technology data related to the diagnosis results and spot adequate information on service manual. The dealerships are also able to access their service database and refer to the vehicle’s maintenance history on the laptop PC.
3.Capable of Handling Multiple Complex Defects
The diagnostics tool is equipped with various functions including simultaneous self-diagnosis of an entire system, simultaneous data monitor for multiple systems, data recorder, and oscilloscope capability.

Basic/Intermediate Computer experience with installing drivers and software; 1. Plug the mini USB cable into your Consult 14 Pin Interface and plug the USB cable into an available USB port on your laptop or computer. Windows will detect the USB device and install the correct FTDI driver for the device. There are other CONSULT adapters besides Blazt - they are just my personal recommendation for starters. There is also a good set of CONSULT softwares. I use Nissan Datascan, which BTW, also comes with Blazt, if you order their package. As for reliability, speed, etc. Both serial and USB are just as good. Kit includes a data link connector cable (DLC), USB cable, Velcro cable tether strap, and VCI manager software CD. Refer to bulletin NTSB/16-627, and the service procedures for additional usage information. Applications: R1608 & R1609 & Future Reprogramming Applications. Install guides are from the FTDI website - use the 'Manual Installation' section. FTDI make the USB chips in our cables so simply use the FTDI install guides but instead of using standard FTDI drivers, use the customised PLMS drivers from the links above. Don't use standard FTDI drivers from their website - use the PLMS drivers.

Please note that all USB devices are serialised, so if you have multiple USB ports then your computer will ask to install the drivers separately for each port that you plug into.
